Omega-3 fatty acids are essential cornerstones of human nutrition. They are deemed "essential" because we need them for proper health-much like certain vitamins and minerals but cannot produce them on our own. We must therefore consume these fats through diet or supplementation. Since omega-3 fatty acids are known to benefit cardiovascular health, support healthy brain function and cognition, and have also been proven to maintain a healthy inflammatory response, achieving the proper balance of omega-3s has become an important health strategy, requiring supplementation for most people. The American Heart Association recommends that those concerned about blood lipids take up to 4 g of omega-3 fatty acids per day.
Orthomega® 820 is a high-concentration fish oil sourced from waters off the Chilean coast. As the world’s least industrialized coastline, these cold, fresh waters provide the cleanest, most sustainable source of fish in the world. Orthomega® provides 820 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) per soft gel as natural triglycerides, the preferred form with superior absorption. To stabilize the oil, vitamin E (as mixed tocopherols) and rosemary extract are used to ensure maximum purity and freshness. This exclusive fish oil is purified, vacuum distilled, and independently tested to ensure heavy metals, pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are removed to undetectable levels. With over 10,000 published studies in the last three decades, EPA and DHA from fish oil are among the most researched natural ingredients available and have a long history of safety and efficacy.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids
In nature, omega-3s occur as alpha linolenic acid (ALA), found mostly in plants, and as long chain EPA and DHA, which primarily originate from cold-water fish. The body is able to slowly convert the shorter chain ALA to the more active long chain, EPA and DHA. However, many people lack the enzymes delta-5 and delta- 6 desaturase necessary to make the conversion, making a higher dietary intake of EPA and DHA necessary. In addition, major changes in Western diet over the last century have led to a decrease in the general consumption of omega-3 fatty acids, and a dramatic increase in the dietary ratio of omega-6:omega-3.
GlycemaCORE is a drink mix formula that supports blood sugar balance already within normal levels. GlycemaCORE provides fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, lipoic acid, chromium and vanadyl sulfate, with no added sugar. GlycemaCORE is available in delicious vanilla flavors.
Glucomanan: Glucomannan is a water-soluble dietary fiber derived from konjac root (Amorphophallus konjac).
Guar Gum Fiber: Viscous dietary fibers are effective in maintaining satiety but challenging to apply in normal serving sizes in foods due to their viscosity and required high amounts. Guar gum fiber is a near non-viscous soluble fiber that has been proven effective in providing several physiological benefits. According to a 2016 summary of clinical research on the topic, regular intake of guar gum fiber provided significant sustained post-meal satiation effects and minimized the inter-meal calorie intake by about 20% in normal subjects. The intake of guar gum fiber alone or its combination with protein showed acute satiety effects in normal subjects.
Alpha Linolenic Acid: Flax seeds are a generous source of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. The organic flax seeds in GlycemaCORE Whey Protein provide a total of 1.3 g of alpha linolenic acid per scoop, while contributing additional protein, lignans and numerous micronutrients.
Alpha Lipoic Acid: Alpha lipoic acid is an antioxidant that affects blood sugar metabolism.
Chromium: Chromium is a critical element in the GTF, a complex shown to be crucial for glucose uptake into the cells.
Vanadyl Sulfate: Vanadyl sulfate stimulates glucose uptake within cells helping to use blood sugar more efficiently and support blood sugar balance already within normal levels.

Optimizing cardiovascular health is a leading concern for many adults, and maintaining balanced cholesterol levels are an important part of that process. Though cholesterol can be consumed through food, circulating cholesterol levels are primarily produced and controlled by the liver using the rate control enzyme, HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR). Because of its pronounced role in cholesterol synthesis, inhibiting HMGCR has become a primary target of many traditional therapies.
Numerous clinical trials have shown the specific BPF found in Bergamot BPF works at the level of the liver to help maintain and support healthy cholesterol levels and preserve coronary arteries by maintaining normal inflammatory balance.
What are Bergamot Polyphenolic Fractions?
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is a citrus plant that grows almost exclusively in the narrow coastal Calabria region in southern Italy. The local population quickly discovered bergamot juice could be used to help support healthy cholesterol levels and optimize cardiovascular wellness.
Bergamot’s health benefits derive from its unique profile of phenolic compounds such as, neoeriocitrin, neohesperidin, naringin, rutin, neodesmin, rhoifolin and poncirin. Naringin has been shown to be beneficial in maintaining normal inflammatory balance, while neoeriocitrin and rutin have been found to exhibit a strong capacity to quench free radicals and maintain healthy LDL cholesterol levels. Also, bergamot is rich in brutieridine and melitidine, which have a unique ability to dampen HMG-CoA reductase.
Using a patented extraction technology through collaborative works of various universities and research institutions, Bergamot BPF contains Bergamonte®, BPF/Bergamot Polyphenolic Fraction (by H&AD), the highest concentration available of these potent phenolic compounds. Clinical trials quoted were conducted on BPF.
